1. Information we collect
- Account and contact data: name, email, phone and profile details you provide.
- Learning data: courses and batches you join, your progress, quiz attempts, assignments, certificates, and questions or feedback you send.
- WhatsApp number and consent, only if you choose to receive reminders on WhatsApp.
- Newsletter sign-ups, only if you subscribe and confirm by email.
- Messages you send through our contact, retreat or partnership forms.
- Technical data: the IP address and browser of your signed-in sessions, kept for account security, and basic server logs.
- Payment-related data: donation references and status through payment providers (we do not store card data).
2. How we use information
- Provide courses, live batches, certificates and support
- Sign you in and keep your account secure
- Send service messages: sign-in codes, batch details, reminders about your own courses, and announcements
- Respond to questions, grievances and legal requests
- Understand how the platform is used, from our own records, to improve it
- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations
3. Legal basis for processing
We process data based on your consent, the delivery of the courses you join, legitimate uses permitted by law (such as platform safety), and compliance with legal obligations. WhatsApp reminders and the newsletter are sent only with your consent.
4. Sharing of data
We do not sell personal data. We share only what each service needs to do its job:
- Cloudflare — hosting, file storage and security
- Neon — our database (hosted in Singapore)
- Resend — delivery of our emails
- WhatsApp (Meta), through our provider Gallabox — only if you opt in to WhatsApp messages
- Google — only if you choose “Continue with Google” to sign in
- YouTube and Vimeo — playback of course videos embedded in lessons
- Payment providers — processing donations
- Legal authorities — when required by law or to protect rights, safety and platform integrity
5. Where your data is stored
Our database is hosted in Singapore, and the website is served through Cloudflare's worldwide network. Where data is processed outside India, we use providers with appropriate safeguards, consistent with applicable law.
6. Data retention
We keep personal data while your account is active and afterwards only as long as needed for educational records (such as certificates), legal compliance, dispute handling and security.
7. Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable law, you may ask to access, correct, update or erase your personal data, withdraw consent, nominate another person to exercise these rights, and seek redressal of grievances.
- Turn WhatsApp reminders and course emails on or off any time in Dashboard → Settings.
- Every newsletter email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
- For other requests, email info@studygita.com with enough detail to verify your request. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on sensitive requests.
8. Children and minors
Users under 18 should use StudyGita with the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a minor has given us data without that consent, contact us and we will review it and act where required.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards: encrypted connections, hashed passwords, limited staff access. No digital system is entirely free of risk, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
10. Third-party links and platforms
StudyGita links to and embeds other services (such as YouTube, Vimeo, social media and payment pages). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
11. Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to make the site work. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics. Embedded YouTube or Vimeo videos may set their own cookies under their policies. You can manage cookies in your browser; blocking them will sign you out.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
